Measuring those who worship in it

In the time of Noah the citizens of planet earth were free to worship God in any way they wished. Within, of course, the limits which God had explained to Noah in the days before the flood.

But not long after the flood, perhaps about seventy years or so, ambition raised its ugliness in the form of Noah's great grandson Nimrod.

Through a combination of force and deceit, Nimrod imposed his wickedness on all those he subdued. He took away people's freedom and imposed religion on them. He oppressed them with the religion of Satan, the religion of the sun.

The oppression lasted until Jesus came to Earth and returned freedom to those who would seek God.

But through force and deceit, the freedom which Jesus had brought was quickly stolen from the people of God; religion was reimposed on them. To this day.

How can this be? How can the people of God remain in bonds?

Because it is easier for them to love their bonds than to escape their bonds.

Because it is easier to believe what they are told than it is to investigate what they are told.

Jesus offers the people of God the gift of doubt. The gift of disbelieving everything they are told.

But the people of God don't want what Jesus is offering.
